Emily Turner Fast-Pitch Softball Academy
This academy is designed to work with players on the fundamentals of fast-pitch softball. Emily Turner, a former All-American player while at LSU will work with your child on pitching, fielding, catching, throwing, and hitting. Her staff will include other former college players and local high school coaches. The camp will take place the first four Saturdays of each month with the last day reserved as a rain-out day. Science Academy
VISIBLE LIGHT Roy G. Biv! The section of the EM spectrum with which we're most familiar, "color" creates the world around us as different objects absorb some frequencies and reflect back others. Limit fifteen. Parent may stay with or leave child. Perpetual leave privileges dependent on filling out of proper paperwork. Friends and Family Luau
Individuals with disabilities and their family and friends are invited to attend. Each person is asked to bring a swimsuit and towel. Through a partnership with Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge (FHFGBR), we are able to offer this program that includes swimming, music, door prizes, snacks and fun! PREPAYMENT REQUIRED: Participants must receive a wristband prior to event for admission to Liberty Lagoon. Wristbands are to be purchased in advanced up until the Thursdays before the event (May 10 @ noon & August 2 @ noon) at FHFGBR, located at 2356 Drusilla Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70809. Discover folklore, customs and crafts that trace back to the early years of our state and beyond. Campers will experience firsthand the traditional crafts and cultures that make our state unique. Tennis Adult Co-ed Round Robin
Come play round robin style tennis at Greenwood Park! This program will be lead by Carlos Roldan, USPTA Teaching Tennis Professional. All skill levels are welcome. There will be single and doubles play. This program will run for four consecutive Friday evenings beginning June 8. You can pay per session or for all four sessions at once. The fee is $12 per session if you preregister by the Thursday before Round Robin class. If you register the day of it is $15 per session. You can pay for all four weeks at a discounted rate of $45. Adult Summer Softball League Organizational Meeting
BREC’s Athletics Department will host an organizational meeting for men’s, women’s and co-ed summer softball leagues on June 13 at BREC’s Womack Ballroom, 6201 Florida Blvd. The meeting for all summer softball leagues The deadline for softball registration is Tuesday, July 10 and the league fees are as follows: men’s: $395 per team, women’s: $300 per team and co-ed: $295 per team (Sunday league) and $395 per team (weeknight league). There is a one day only extended deadline with a $100 late fee. Teams must submit rosters and entry fees on or before the registration deadline at BREC’s Administration Building, 6201 Florida Blvd. Complete rosters are not due until July 23 at 5 p.m. Men’s, women’s and weeknight co-ed games are played at Oak Villa Sports Complex, 2615 Oak Villa Blvd. Co-ed Sunday league games are played at BREC’s Perkins Road Community Park, 7122 Perkins Rd. Games are scheduled to begin on July 17 for the co-ed Sunday league and the week of July 25 for all other leagues. Postponed games are made up at the end of the season. Tennis Adult Co-ed Round Robin
Come play round robin style tennis at Greenwood Park! This program will be lead by Carlos Roldan, USPTA Teaching Tennis Professional. All skill levels are welcome. There will be single and doubles play. This program will run for four consecutive Friday evenings beginning June 8. You can pay per session or for all four sessions at once. The fee is $12 per session if you preregister by the Thursday before Round Robin class. If you register the day of it is $15 per session. You can pay for all four weeks at a discounted rate of $45. This academy is designed to work with players on the fundamentals of fast-pitch softball. Emily Turner, a former All-American player while at LSU will work with your child on pitching, fielding, catching, throwing, and hitting. Her staff will include other former college players and local high school coaches. The camp will take place the first four Saturdays of each month with the last day reserved as a rain-out day.
