BREC to Host Kids Quickstart Tennis Karnival

Come one, come all to BREC's Kids Quickstart Tennis Karnival! BREC, along with The Greater Baton Rouge Community Tennis Association and The Louisiana Council on Obesity Prevention and Management, will host this event at BREC's Highland Road Park Tennis Center, 14024 Highland Road, on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 9-11 a.m.

Quickstart Tennis is an exciting new play format for learning tennis. It is designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size. The game is divided into two different levels- ages 8 and under and ages 10 and under. Adult participation is also encouraged.

On-court activities at the carnival include Quickstart game play, target and prize courts and assistance from BREC Tennis professionals and instructors. Free snow balls will also be available to all in attendance.

Students will not want to miss out on all the carnival fun and a chance to win prizes for their school. The elementary school with the most students attending the Quickstart Tennis Karnival will win free racquets and foam tennis balls.

No registration is required, and the event is free.

For more information, call the Highland Road Park Tennis Center at 225-766-0247, or visit brec.org/tennis.

It is the BREC mission to provide parks and recreational opportunities for all the citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish.
