Trick-or-Treat along Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center’s Trails

Enjoy a family-friendly, spooktacular event this Halloween Season

Trade screams and scares for laughter and learning this Halloween at Swamp Haunted Hikes at BREC's Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, 10503 N. Oak Hills Pkwy., Oct. 14, 21, and 28 from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

This program serves as an alternative to commercial haunted houses and designed especially for young children. Participants learn about survival "tricks" of snakes, rats, insects and alligators as they collect treats at educational stations along the trail. Visitors will find more spooky silliness in the nature center as they pass through the Animal Morgue to view natural artifacts like skulls, pelts and costumed taxidermy; and the Creepy Cavern to reach out and touch nature at its grossest.

Bluebonnet swamp Nature Center encourages children to come dressed in their favorite costume and to bring a flash light. Registration is not required. The fee is $6 per participant and free for children younger than 2 years old.
