BREC has five major tennis centers which feature pro shops, lighted courts, racquet stringing, instruction and racquet and ball machine rentals.

Hours of Operation for all Tennis Centers
Weekday: Mon.-Fri. from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. EXCEPT Greenwood Tennis Center which is open from 3pm to 10pm.
Weekend: 
Saturday:  8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Sunday:  8 a.m. - 6 p.m. EXCEPT Independence Tennis which will remain open until 8pm.


Summer Hours of Operation for Forest Park Tennis Center
Forest Park will be closed Monday-Friday from 2:30pm to 4:00pm starting on Monday, June 4th through Friday, August 10th.

Ball machine rental is available at Independence Park, Highland Road Park and Capital One Tennis Center at City Park for $5 per hour. Ball rental is $3 per hour.

Neighborhood Tennis Courts
BREC has numerous neighborhood tennis courts located throughout the parish.  Neighborhood courts are open to the public and are free of charge.  Click here for a listing of BREC tennis courts.  This list shows the name of the park, park address, number of courts lighted/unlighted, as well as staffed tennis centers.  Click here for a map.

Youth Programming
BREC's Tennis Centers offer a variety of programming for youth players.  Programs include two year-round tennis academies (Independence and Highland Parks), QuickStart tennis, tournaments, after-school programs, and Holiday camps. Individual and group instruction for various skill levels is provided by certified tennis instructors.  For more information about BREC's tennis programs, call the Tennis Department at 225-272-9200 Ext. 549.  Also, you may download monthly Tennis Programming Guides below.

BREC Begins Summer Camp Registration

BREC offers summer camp registration for East Baton Rouge Parish residents beginning Saturday, April 14 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 24 at 3 p.m. for out-of-parish residents. Parents or guardians may register in person at the facility of their choice or online at select locations.

BREC’s Liberty Lagoon Family Aquatics Center Season Passes Available

BREC's Liberty Lagoon will begin selling season passes on Monday, April 2 at Liberty Lagoon Family Aquatics Center, 111 Lobdell Ave. Participants may register in person at Liberty Lagoon Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. or fill out a season pass form on libertylagoon.com and email to bweinberger@brec.org.
