The Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge (BREC) will celebrate Black History through the arts at Independence Park Theatre, 7800 Independence Blvd., on Feb. 27 and 28 from 6:30-8 p.m.
'Picture Your Park' aims to engage the audience of City-Brooks Park in capturing a photographic image of the splendor of the BREC park setting. The Juried Photography Exhibit deadline is Feb. 4.

Beginning on Sunday, Dec. 1, Baton Rouge Gallery (“BRG”) will be filled with the latest works from four of its artist members: Jenny Authement, Paulo Dufour, Randell Henry and Michael w. Howes. The exhibition will be on display at BRG through Dec. 26, with no admission charges during normal gallery hours (12-6 p.m., Tuesday – Sunday).
