Quilt the Swamp at BREC's Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center

BREC's Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, 10503 N. Oak Hills Pkwy, invites families and friends to experience the "Quilt the Swamp" exhibition on display Jan. 13 through Feb. 8.

The Quilt the Swamp Exhibit 2009, "Focus in the Swamp," has a unique twist. All entries are inspired by photographs taken by BREC's 2008 Volunteer of the Year, John Hartgerink.   Quilts and fiber artwork pieces will be coupled with one of John's framed images. The exhibit will be available for viewing during regular operation hours.

On Feb. 11, Quilt the Swamp tribute to John Hartgerink's photography skills will continue as elementary school students produce works of art inspired by John's images.  Artwork will be available to view through Mar. 1.

All exhibits are on display for public viewing Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or Sunday's from: 12-5 p.m.  General admission applies.
