PERKINS ROAD COMMUNITY PARK, future home of the Extreme Park complex

This park is designated in the Imagine Your Parks strategic plan to be a Community Park. A community park serves as a large geographic area than a neighborhood park and is designed to engage the entire family for a whole day. Higher levels of maintenance, security, and recreational opportunities are offered by community parks. This community park is envisioned to become BREC's "Extreme Sports Park." Therein the project program includes the addition of many new recreational opportunities that are not currently provided in the system, but are desired by the community as outlined in the Imagine Your Parks strategic plan.

Programmatic items to be included in this "extreme sports park" were to be as follows:

Skate Park
BMX Track
Rock Climbing Tower
Community Playground, with an extreme character theme
Walk, Skate and Bike Trails
Open Turf Spaces
Picnic Areas and Site Furnishings
Court Games (Tennis and Sand Volleyball)
Vehicular Use Areas (Parking, Circulation, Entry and Access)
Park Signage and Branding Concepts
Restrooms
Outdoor Site Lighting
Landscaping
