Take Interstate 110 North to Exit 8, turn right onto Highway 19.
At the second light, turn right onto Thomas Road. The Zoo is located on the left.

Discover all the animals that call BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo home. More than 1,800 animals await you in the beautifully landscaped Zoo. You'll enjoy the Flamingo Cove and Giants of the Islands, our newest exhibit featuring Chilean flamingos and Galapagos and Aldabra tortoises, as well as the popular Otter Pond, featuring a cypress cabin and spectacular underwater viewing of river otters. Youngsters of all ages love the KidZoo, complete with a playground and hands-on animal encounters.

Zoo and Me Mornings
Visit the zoo on the second Tuesday of the month for "zooper" fun with your 3 to 6 year-old children.
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
$15 per session for one child with one adult. $25 per session for two children with one adult. 

What Should I Bring?
Some activities will be outside and will require walking. Comfortable closed-toe shoes are recommended for adults and for children. You are welcome to bring strollers if you would like for smaller children; however, no strollers are allowed  into the education building. Stroller parking is available outside. Bug spray, hats, water bottles and cameras are also recommended. Snacks will be provided, so please inform the education staff when registering if your child has any food allergies or restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate them.

How Can I Register?
Registration can be completed by phone, fax and mail or by coming by the Zoo. For phone and fax reservations, a credit card is required. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, check, and Visa or MasterCard. For more information, please call (225) 775-3877.

Frozen Safari
Visit the Zoo on July 4 as we pay tribute to our nation's independence. This special day will focus on animal enrichment and teach visitors what the Zoo does to promote animal wellness on a daily basis. Frozen treats will be available for visitors as well as animals! Keeper talks and popsicles will keep you cool on this hot summer day. Regular Zoo admission applies. For more information, please call (225) 775-3877 or visit www.brzoo.org .

Zoo Run
Join Club South at BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo for our fourth annual Zoo Run on August 29 at 8 a.m. Registration may be done by mail or on race day beginning at 6:30 a.m. Whether you sprint like a cheetah or crawl like a tortoise, this race is for you! Prizes will be awarded to first male and female in age group categories. $10 for Club South members and $12 for non-Club South members. $17 registration on day of race. A portion of your registration supports the Zoo's conservation programs for threatened and endangered animals. For more information, please call (225) 775-3877.

Twilight Tuesdays
BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo invites you to visit this summer for a Twilight Tuesdays every Tuesday evening this June and July. Take a twilight tram ride through the Zoo in the cool of the evening. Dates scheduled include June 2, 9, 13,16,23 and 30 and July 7, 14, 21 and 28 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a guided ride through the Zoo and an evening snack. The cost is $15 for adults and teens, $12 for children 2-12. There is limited space available, and pre-registration is required. Volunteers Wanted!
There are many exciting opportunities at BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo for volunteers including special event volunteers, Wildlife on Wheels Zoomobile excursions, Welcome Ambassadorships, horticulture, public outreach and keeper assistants.
