Stablehand at the Farr Horse Activity Center. Feeds and waters horses, turns-out and cleans stalls and other duties related to animal care; Loads, unloads and pushes wheel barrow with manure and solid bedding from stall areas to stockpile; Assists with rounding up horses from pasture for lessons; Assists with clean up of all areas of the facility; Loads, unloads and carries bags of feed, bales of hay and bags of shaving; Assists with preparation of stall/pens/arenas and portable structures used for functions; Other duties as assigned. Previous work with horses preferred. Hours: Vary $8.8215/hr.
Tennis Instructors to provide adult and/or youth tennis instruction. Must possess a H. S. Diploma or G.E.D. and experience teaching lessons. Ability to plan and instruct classes and work with the general public. Flexible hours.
Tennis Shop Clerks for several locations. Must be HS grad or equivalent desired; with previous retail or customer service experience. No tennis knowledge required, but is helpful. Tour Guides for Magnolia Mound Plantation. Must be HS grad with history background or experience in tour business. Must have customer service, public speaking skills, and be willing to work some evenings and weekends. Will guide tours and assist with gift shop sales and programming. $7.40/hr.
Zoo Educator HS Diploma ; must have a valid LA Driver's License, some training in education and public presentations required; animal experience preferred; excellent PR and interpersonal communication skills; willingness to handle education animals. Will present Safari night programs overnight starting on Friday or Saturday evenings on an as needed basis; lead groups on tours and presents material; assist patrons at all times; work all major Zoo events on Saturdays. Seasonal Maintenance Laborers for BREC's Maintenance Departments. We are actively seeking individuals who are adamant about hard work and have satisfaction through job completion. Work will include cutting grass, weedeating, tree trimming, picking up debris around the parks and facilities. Seasonal Construction Laborers for BREC's Capital Improvements Department. We are actively seeking individuals with a construction-related background to assist Trades Personnel in carrying out various duties in the construct, repair, and / or maintenance of over 150 locations throughout the East Baton Rouge Parish. Incumbents will work and gain additional experience in the areas of painting, carpentry, electrical work, brick laying, cement finishing, plumbing, etc. Location: North Sherwood Forest Blvd. Hours: 6AM-4:30 PM Monday-Thursday.
Driver's license and maintenance experience preferred. 40 hours per week for 5 months. $8.8215/hr. Come in person to apply and bring two valid forms of identification. Acceptable forms include LA ID card, LA driver's license, social security card, or birth certificate. Please call about other acceptable forms before coming.
