SHrEdders- Girls Only Skate Clinic - Intermediate

SHrEdders: The first girls-only clinic in the city! This clinic is for girls ages 6-10 to EDUCATE, EXPOSE, ENCOURAGE and EMPOWER young girls who show an interest in skateboarding. • Educate-basic skateboarding skills (balance, stance, turning, tricks) • Expose- expose girls to the skatepark and its etiquette. This is CRUCIAL as it promotes safety and cohesion between other riders at the park. • Encourage- Encourage girls to be PROUD of their skill, no matter beginner or advanced, and KNOW they have a place at this park and every other skatepark (which is very male dominated). • Empower- with these tools, empower girls to be THE role models for the next group of SHrEdders. Pass it forward and recruit new riders to not be intimidated by “good skaters”, or “all the boys”. Skateboarding is a very welcoming and rewarding sport for ALL to enjoy! SHrEdders should arrive with a skateboard and helmet. Pads are recommended. A waiver MUST be signed by parent or guardian before class starts and are available onsite. We will have a limited number of helmets available for use during the class.

10 & Under Tennis Tournament

This tournament features a singles round robin format with boys’ and girls’ divisions. Ages 8 and younger play on a 36-foot court with 23-inch racquets. Ages 10 and younger play on a 60-foot court with 25-inch racquets. Free snacks and awards for players. Tournament Director: Jeremiah Casson

A four-week program for adults who want to fine tune their game.

Aerobic Kickboxing

Aerobic Kickboxing is a fusion of boxing, martial arts and aerobics usually done rhythmically to music.

Art History

Participants will learn the fundamental skills of creative art using different mediums and design templates.

Art Imagination

Participants will create arts and crafts projects after receiving inspiration from reading and/or hearing an illustrated story from a book, movie, poster or other medium.

Art Stars

Art focused performance enrichment program dedicated to promoting self-awareness, creative expression, imagination, teamwork and basic body/health awareness.

Ballroom Dance

Participants will learn dance movements in a variety of partner dancing styles.

Beginner Adult Tennis Instruction: Highland

This four-week program for beginners introduces and reinforces fundamental tennis techniques.

A four-week program for adults who want to learn the game of tennis.

Beginner BMX Park Clinic

No training wheels, must be able to ride a bike without assistance, bikes available onsite or bring your own!

Beginner BMX Track Clinic

No training wheels, must be able to ride a bike without assistance, bikes available onsite or bring your own!

Beginner Tae Kwon Do

Tae Kwon Do class teaches how to exercise the mind, body and spirit through martial arts movements. Participants also learn self-defense skills, self-discipline, and self-confidence.

Belly Aerobics

This class offers a fun, low-impact workout that incorporates belly dance movements including warm-up, stretching and toning with light weight dumbbells and stretch bands.

Bridge

Hone your competitive nature and make new friends with BREC’s Bridge program. Bridge is a four player trick-taking card game, where two competing teams have partners sitting opposite each other.

Busy Bodies

This program addresses some of the major wellness components needed for optimal health. These areas include strength, flexibility, balance, cognition and nutrition.

Canasta

Meet new friends or bring a group with you to compete in a fun game of cards. Canasta is a multiple player "rummy" style card game.

Capoeira

Capoeira is and Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music.

Chair Aerobics: Anna T. Jordan

This is a fun-filled class that varies and combines toning, stretching and strength training exercises for a complete body workout.
