Ballet, Jazz, Tap: Saia

Participants learn a series of modern dance including ballet, jazz, hip hop and tap techniques. This program provides a recital in May 2018, where students will showcase their learned dance abilities. Routines focus on technical skills and dance ability in one-hour class segments per age group.

Ballroom Dance

Participants will learn dance movements in a variety of partner dancing styles.

Baton Rouge Bicentennial Sundays

In celebration of Baton Rouge’s 200th anniversary, free guided tours will be offered on the first Sunday of each month in 2017. Special programs of traditional crafts, informative lectures, and family activities are planned for each “First Free Sunday.”

Beginner Adult Instruction: Highland

This four-week program for beginners introduces and reinforces fundamental tennis techniques.

Belly Aerobics

This class offers a fun, low-impact workout that incorporates belly dance movements including warm-up, stretching and toning with light weight dumbbells and stretch bands.

BREC Fresh Kids Cooking Teams

This program offers hands-on, community-based cooking and nutrition education that is designed for chefs to teach students practical culinary skills.

BREC Junior Tennis Tournament

This USTA sanctioned tournament is for boys and girls with singles and doubles divisions. Age divisions include: 10s, 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s. Must be a USTA member.

BREC Youth Concert Choir

Our mission is to provide a quality choral music experience that encourages young people to strengthen their individual character and personal singing ability while at the same time building a dedication to the choir and deeper love of music.

BREC's Doug Williams Football Camp & Dance Clinic

The annual Doug Williams Football Camp and Cheer Clinic works with youth players on a technical and fundamental level. The free clinic teaches children ages 5-14 basic football skills such as blocking, tackling and throwing.

Bridge

Bridge is a four-player trick-taking card game, where two competing teams have partners sitting opposite each other.

Bunco

Bunco is a social game played with teams and dice.

Busy Bodies

This program addresses some of the major wellness components needed for optimal health. These areas include strength, flexibility, balance, cognition and nutrition.

Campout 2.0

Campout 2.0 is for those families or groups that love the outdoors and want to take their adventures away from home. During this fun excursion, BREC staff will accompany families that have minimal experience camping.

Canasta

Canasta is a multiple player “rummy” style card game.

Caroling in the Park

Mark your calendars for BREC’s annual Caroling in City Park featuring a park lighting ceremony, candlelight caroling, roasting marshmallows and a host of other family activities for all ages to enjoy. Food vendors will be on site for this event.

Catholic Charities Day

Participants are engaged with presentations by nutrition and health professionals, games and other various activities. A nutritional meal is also served to the participants.

Ceramics/Pottery

Participants receive instruction on the firing, painting and glazing of ceramic pottery pieces.

Chair Aerobics: Anna T. Jordan

This is a fun-filled class that varies and combines toning, stretching and strength training exercises for a complete body workout.
