Pools are open seven days a week, from 2 -5 p.m.

BREC and the YMCA of the Capital Area have partnered to provide the community with opportunities for recreational swimming and learn-to-swim program at BREC pools throughout the parish.
YMCA Lifeguarding
Work at your neighborhood pool for the summer and receive the benefits of being a YMCA employee such as free membership and training opportunities. We are hiring now. If you are not yet certified as a lifeguard, the YMCA has classes available. Visit our Web site at www.ymcabatonrouge.org for a schedule of classes. Scholarships are available for all YMCA programs upon request based on financial need.

Learn-to-Swim Program
2010 Learn-to-Swim Program
Swim lessons will be offered at 8:15 a.m. and between 5:30-6:45 p.m., Monday-Thursday, beginning June 7 and ending July 15. These lessons are designed for children ages 3 and up or adults who do not know how to swim. Each class will last 30 minutes and eight classes are offered per two week session. The cost for an entire session is $6.50 per person.

Session 3: July 5- July 15
Summer sign-up day for swim lessons is May 8 at the following sites and times:
Gus Young: 9-11:30 a.m.
Webb: 9-11:30 a.m.
Jefferson: 1-3:30 p.m.
Anna T. Jordan: 1-3:30 p.m.
It is cash only, non-refundable and you can only register for one session.
If you miss sign-up day, registrations will be taken at any of the pools from May 24-28 at 2-5 p.m.
