Swamp Dog Days

With our Dog Days, BSNC drops its “no pets” policy and opens its doors and trails to pets four days out of the year! All pets are welcome, but they must be on a leash and have their vaccinations current.

Swamp Bird Walks

Led by a member of the Baton Rouge Audubon Society (BRAS), visitors enjoy a morning hike through the forest and swamp while identifying various bird species. Bird-watching techniques and identification tips are also discussed. Beginners are welcome.

With many amphibian populations in decline worldwide, citizens can help provide valuable data useful in monitoring their nearby populations. FrogWatch USA™ is a citizen science program that’s great for families, students and scout groups ages 12 and up – and it’s free for registered participants!

Our Outdoor Adventure staff will take you through the basics of being a successful backpacker and lead you on your first backpacking adventure at the culmination of our program.
