Community Pool Rules

BREC Community Pools Code of Conduct

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, all guests must follow these rules. 

Failure to comply may result in removal.

This is OUR community pool, help us PROTECT it. 

Respect everyone: our community (fellow guests), law enforcement, lifeguards, staff, the space, and yourself. 

Supervise: Stay engaged. Stay present.

    • Youth under the age of 16 must be under active adult supervision (18+) at all times. 
    • Supervising adults must remain on the pool deck, within direct line of sight, and actively engaged while youth are in the water. 
    • One adult may supervise no more than four (4) youth (under 16). 
    • Valid photo ID is required for all supervising adults.

Respect Everyone

      • Respect our community (fellow guests), law enforcement, lifeguards, staff, space, and yourself at all times. 
      • Lifeguards are trained safety professionals, follow all instructions immediately. 
      • Law enforcement has full authority on-site; failure to comply may result in removal or further action. 
      • Report injuries, concerns, or unsafe behavior to law enforcement, a lifeguard or staff member right away. 

Keep It Friendly

        • Speak and behave with respect. 
        • No rough play, dunking, jumping on others, or breath-holding games. 
        • No threats, foul language, or aggressive behavior. 

Move Smart

          • Walk at all times. No running. 
          • Enter the pool safely, no diving. 
          • Depths vary, know before you go. 

Prepare to Swim (Hygiene Matters) 

            • All swimmers are expected to rinse off before entering the pool to help maintain water quality. 
            • Shower after swimming to remove chlorine and protect your skin.

Dress to Swim

              • Proper swimwear is required. View the swimwear guidelines here
              • No street clothes or undergarments in the pool. 
              • Swim diapers are required for non-potty-trained or incontinent swimmers. 

Use Approved Safety Gear

                • Only BREC-issued life jackets or flotation devices are permitted.

Protect the Pool

                  • Stay clear of drains and covers. 
                  • Help keep the space clean and safe.

Service Animals

                    • Service animals are permitted on deck and must be properly identified, leashed, and kept under control.
                    • Animals are not allowed in the water except during designated events.

What Stays Out

                      • No outside food or drinks (sealed water only). 
                      • No alcohol, tobacco, vaping, drugs, gum, or glass containers. 
                      • Clear bags only.

Weather Policy: Safety First 

                        • Lightning or thunder = 30-minute closure
                        • Time resets at each instance.
                        • Repeated delays = pool may close for the day. 

If Lifeguards Call It, It’s Closed.

Failure to comply with these rules may result in removal from the facility.

Law enforcement has full authority on-site; failure to comply may result in removal or further action.
