Milford Wampold Memorial Park
4.15 Acres - BREC's Milford Wampold Memorial Park is located on Stanford Avenue, on the LSU Lake. The sand beach and handicapped-accessible pier offers a unique spot for leisure recreation for the entire family. Recent improvements to the park include a new asphalt parking lot, reconfigured to provide more green space in the park, a new pedestrian bridge, and a new exercise station. All amenities are ADA compliant including new sidewalks, benches and a new water fountain. This park has 0.25 miles of hard surface walking trails.

Pumpkin Paddle Parade
Get in the Halloween spirit by paddling in the dark along the shoreline of the University Lakes or watching the light show from the beach! For this fourth annual event, participants bring a voluntary contribution of nonperishable goods for the Baton Rouge Food Bank.
SUP with the Sun
Start the day the right way! Come paddle stand up paddle boards with us as the sun rises over the University Lakes. Get some exercise, view the natural splendor Louisiana has to offer, and make some new friends all before breakfast. Once you have started your day this way, you won’t feel the same without it.
Join us at the University Lakes for an evening paddling under the setting sun. This is a great way to start your weekend and enjoy the beauty and serenity of this water area.
Paddle Up 2: Wampold
A beginner to intermediate paddling class on local BREC ponds. You will be given the opportunity to explore paddling skills on dry land, before moving on to water to get a true fell for how kayaks handle in their natural environment.
