How to Register

BREC offers camp registration at select locations through WebTrac, our online registration system. Patrons are able to register online from their computer, tablet, or smartphone.  Beginning March 15 at 9 a.m., East Baton Rouge Parish residents can visit the website and register their children for select locations using a Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit/debit card.

Every child with a disability must have an assessment performed. BREC will screen each child's ability and needs in order for him/her to function to their fullest ability at camp. Children who require any of the following: bathroom assistance, feeding assistance, and negative behaviors are required to have an aide provided by the parents/guardians.

Refunds

Registrants must request all refunds on a Summer Camp/Extended Care Refund form by email to summercamp@brec.org or by fax: 225-273-6407. If a registrant makes a refund request more than 10 business days prior to the start of the session, BREC issues the full session fee minus a $15 transaction fee.  If a registrant makes a refund request 10 business days or less from the start of the session, BREC will not issue a refund.

BREC does not issue a refund for any session already in progress.  BREC assesses a $2 transaction fee for all refund requests for extended care only. BREC bases all refund fees on each transaction.  The date printed on the refund request (email or faxed) determines if a refund is granted.

All checks must clear before BREC processes any refunds. Please allow 3-4 weeks for BREC to issue a refund.  If you do not have computer access, go to the day camp site and request a Summer Camp/Extended Care Refund form or you may submit in writing by fax with the following information: parent's name, child's name, phone number where you may be reached, camp site, session date(s), form of payment, receipt number and specify whether you made payment in person or on-line.

Financial Aid

BREC provides limited financial assistance. BREC requires all applicants to pay at least half of the registration fee for every session they plan to attend at the time of requesting a financial assistance form. All recreation centers prov
ide financial assistance forms that include directions for completing the financial assistance process. Registrants must complete BREC's Financial Assistance Form in its entirety with the required documents attached for financial assistance in order for BREC to consider the application. BREC
does not make exceptions. BREC does not offer fin
ancial assistance for out-of-parish residents.

BREC financial assistance is available on a first come, first served basis until.
