BREC Commission
The Commission is composed of nine members, five of whom are the mayors (or their designees) of the various cities within East Baton Rouge Parish. The remaining four members are appointed by the Metro Council to serve three-year terms. At this time, the Metro Council has not appointed its four commission members. Commission members receive no compensation for their service, accepting their appointments in the interest of civic betterment.
