In partnership with BREC, The Baton Rouge Bicentennial Commission, The East Baton Rouge Parish Library System, and Baton Rouge Green, a Live Oak will be planted at Expressway Park in honor of Baton Rouge’s 200th birthday.
On Sunday, October 15 BREC will host a ribbon cutting and open house for the recently completed Highland Road Boat Launch located at 14024 Highland Road. The boat launch is located near the baseball fields. The event will begin with a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m. immediately followed by canoe and kayak tours, a food truck, nature talks and more running until 4 p.m.
BREC, Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge and the LSO Foundation will host the Fourth Annual Kayak in Colors at Milford Wampold Park, 901 Stanford Ave., on Sunday, Sept. 24 from 1-3 p.m. in support of Cancer Awareness.
Fly on over to BREC’s Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center (BSNC), 10503 N. Oak Hills Parkway, for the annual Duck Duck Goose Day event on Saturday, August 19 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
