Description
Are your kids hands-on? Do they like to get messy? Are they always bringing you their latest nature find? Bring them to Going Wild, where they will be able to get messy and explore with our education team! Each section will focus on a different interest, and will include hands-on skills and explorations of animals, habitats, and even scat! Session will alternate between Frenchtown Nature Station and other Conservation areas so your kids can use what they learn to GO WILD all-around BREC parks!
Section 1: Going Beasty
Bobcats, and coyotes, and …snakes? Oh my! In this section, we will explore all things furry and scaly. Learn which mammals and reptiles can be found in Louisiana, and how we safely look for and learn about them. How is deer scat different from rabbit or raccoon scat? Where can we see snakes and lizards? Why did the turtle cross the road? What traits make for a good predator, and what traits help hide from them? Join us and find out.
Jan. 15 + 29 + Feb. 5 + 19 / 2-4 p.m.
