Description
Riders aged 6 and up with physical, mental, and/or social disabilities will participate in a 6-week session of riding lessons tailored to their needs. Riders enjoy a one-hour class per week on horseback, while learning stretching exercises, basic equitation, and games. Horseback riding is known to improve physical skills such as core strength, balance, and coordination. As well as affecting cognitive, emotional, and social well-being. Each rider is fully supported by trained horses, staff, and volunteers, as well as each other. This can help foster a sense of community and belonging within each participant. Maximum class sizes of 8 riders, with 3 instructors and up to 3 volunteer assistants per rider. Pre-registration + Annual Assessment required. Assessment Date: Aug. 31.
Session 1: Mondays / Sept. 14-Oct. 19
Session 2: Mondays / Nov. 9-Dec. 14
4:30-5:15 p.m. + 5:30-6:15 p.m. + 6:30-7:15 p.m.
