Sense-sational Swamp!

Have you ever wondered how owls can see in the dark, rabbits can hear predators approaching from far away, and snakes can smell with their tongues?  Join us for camp this summer and explore how animals use their senses to survive in the Swamp.  Age-specific, thematic activities are developed to keep campers having fun all day long as they interact with live animals, go on outdoor hikes, play games and make unique nature crafts. Fun snacks are provided in the afternoons; however, campers should bring a bag lunch and a drink each day. Field trips are generally scheduled twice a week, including for Swamp Squirts sessions. 

Our Swamp Counselors-in-Training program will continue with new opportunities for first-, second, and third-year CITs to gain skills needed to work as counselors at Bluebonnet Swamp. Topics focus on camper management techniques, leadership training, and activity development, as well as job-seeking skills, to provide valuable experience for potential future employment opportunities. The Swamp CIT registration fee includes four days of training (May 26-29) and one day of skill evaluation the following week (June 1-5).
