Baton Rouge, LouisianaEAST BATON ROUGE PARISH — BREC Interim Superintendent Janet Simmons is hosting a series of community town hall meetings across the cities in East Baton Rouge Parish throughout July and early August to share her vision, goals, and key initiatives during her 6-month tenure.
With new commission leadership representing all five cities in East Baton Rouge Parish—Baker, Baton Rouge, (North and South), Central, St. George and Zachary —these meetings will serve as a key step in ensuring transparency, inclusion, and shared vision for the future of parks and recreation in the parish.
These interactive events will give the community an opportunity to meet Superintendent Simmons, hear her plans firsthand, and participate in a Q&A session to provide feedback and pose questions. Each session will include a brief presentation and will also be livestreamed for those who cannot attend in person. Light refreshments will be provided.
“As we work to build a stronger, more connected park system, I want to hear directly from all parts of our East Baton Rouge parish community,” said Simmons. “These meetings are an invitation to listen, learn, and lead together during this important transition period.”
