Baton Rouge, LouisianaFollowing a comprehensive national search process, the BREC Commission has selected Brooks Williams as the organization’s next Superintendent, officially appointing him to lead one of the nation’s premier park and recreation systems into its next chapter.
Williams brings extensive executive leadership experience in municipal government, organizational management, and operational improvement. He currently serves as City Manager and Chief Executive Officer for the City of Ferris, Texas, where he has led efforts focused on increasing efficiencies, strengthening organizational performance, improving service delivery, and maintaining strong fiscal stewardship. Throughout the selection process, Williams distinguished himself through his results-driven leadership style, focus on accountability, and ability to build high-performing teams.
“Williams brings a strong operational mindset and a proven track record of improving organizational effectiveness,” said Mike Polito, Chair of the BREC Commission. “We were extremely impressed by the quality and experience of all the finalists throughout this process. We believe Williams is exceptionally well-positioned to lead BREC forward and continue building a strong future for our organization and the community.”
The search process attracted a highly qualified and competitive pool of candidates from across the country. Commissioners thanked all finalists for their professionalism and thoughtful participation throughout the process.
As Superintendent, Williams will oversee BREC’s parks, facilities, programs, and strategic initiatives while advancing the organization’s focus on operational efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and long-term growth across East Baton Rouge Parish.
