Baton Rouge, LouisianaAs planning continues for one of Baton Rouge’s most cherished park spaces, BREC is encouraging residents to stay engaged and help shape the future of City-Brooks Community Park and the Lakes area.
Due to the significant level of community interest and the volume of feedback being received through the public survey, which remains open through April 17, BREC is allowing additional time for the design team and project stakeholders to review input, continue listening, and refine early concepts for the City-Brooks Community Park & Lakes Vision Plan.
The public meeting originally scheduled for April 22 will now take place on June 11, allowing more time to fully incorporate community feedback and engage special committee and stakeholder groups in the planning process.
Additionally, a series of listening sessions with key stakeholder groups will be incorporated into the process, creating more opportunities for the planning team to hear directly from those with a vested interest in the park and surrounding lakes.
“Currently, the design team is focused on listening and learning from the community,” said Angela Harms, BREC Director of Project Development. “The feedback we’re receiving is incredibly valuable, and taking additional time now will help ensure the concepts we bring forward reflect the priorities of our community.”
The public will have the opportunity to review initial design concepts and provide feedback during the rescheduled community meeting in June.
