Baton Rouge, LouisianaBREC is thrilled to announce the appointment of Dina Duplantis, DVM, as the agency’s first-ever Director of Equine Operations at Farr Park Equestrian Center and RV Campground. This newly created position reflects BREC’s renewed commitment to prioritizing and expanding the role of equestrian recreation and education across East Baton Rouge Parish.
As Director of Equine Operations, Dr. Duplantis will oversee the daily management and strategic development of BREC’s equestrian facilities, including Farr Park and the Arena. Her responsibilities will encompass staff management, horse care and welfare, lesson coordination, event organization, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
The new role was established to provide focused leadership and vision for BREC’s equine programming and to position Farr Park for a dynamic future. BREC’s renewed focus on Farr Park aligns with the agency’s broader mission to provide unique, high-quality recreational experiences that serve residents of all interests.
“Creating this position marks a major step in BREC’s plan to elevate Farr Park to its fullest potential,” said BREC Superintendent Janet Simmons. “Dr. Duplantis brings unmatched expertise, a deep passion for horses, and a long-standing connection to our facility. Under her leadership, we are excited to see Farr Park reemerge as a regional destination for equestrian activity, education, and recreation.”
A New Orleans native, Dr. Duplantis earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She began her career at LSU’s Large Animal Intensive Care Unit, caring for critically ill equine patients before founding Equine Health Maintenance, a veterinary practice serving a six-parish area. Her decades of experience in equine health, event participation, and mentorship have made her a respected leader in Louisiana’s horse community.
