Amenities
- Garden/Arboretum
The park is a welcoming neighborhood green space located at the corner of Plank Road and Erie Street, repurposed from two former residential lots. This project is a collaborative effort between BREC, Build BR, Republic Services, LSU, and other partners, designed to serve as a catalyst for revitalization in the Plank Road Corridor.
Pavillion
At the heart of the park is a spacious shade pavilion, perfect for community gatherings. The pavilion features a custom gutter system that channels rainwater into a large metal cistern—an eco-friendly solution for irrigating the park’s plants.
Food Distribution + Storage
Just behind the pavilion sits a modified shipping container that functions as a food distribution and storage shed, supporting neighborhood food access efforts.
Community Garden Space
The park also includes several raised wooden garden beds, generously constructed by Republic Services volunteers. These beds form a community garden space where residents can grow fresh produce. One of the planters is specially designed for accessibility, allowing individuals of all mobility levels to participate in gardening activities.
