Perkins Road Community Park is BREC's "Extreme Sports Park." Perkins Road Community Park amenities include the skate park and BMX Raceway, a community playground, tennis court and walking, skating and biking trails. BREC's BMX Raceway hosts birthday parties as well as open track riding hours.

Community Playground

This playground offers an extreme sports adventure theme. Kids love it! There are plenty of benches for parents to sit to watch their kids play...or parents can join in if the extreme spirit catches them!


The park features a beautiful fishing pond that is stocked periodically. Click here to learn more about fishing in our parks.

Recreation Center

Perkins Road Community Park also offers a large recreation center with 3 rooms available for rent.

Olympia Stadium

Olympia Stadium is located within Perkins Road Community Park. On special occasions, it is used for major special events. There are a number of restrooms, a concession area, parking facilities and large crowd stands.

Clear Bag Policy

BREC prohibits all bags, backpacks and other carriers from being brought into the stadium with the following exceptions: 

  • Approved clear bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”  

These include the following clear bags:  

  • Clear Backpacks 
  • Clear Fanny Packs 
  • Clear Bags 
  • Clear Purses 
  • One-gallon clear plastic zip lock type bags 
  • Small Clutch Bag (the size of an adult hand and or 4.5” x 6.5”) 
  • Seat Cushion 

Please note, the stadium bag policy will be enforced for all stadium events including concerts, matches, youth and hosted High School home games, unless otherwise noted.  
The stadium bag policy applies to all patrons attending events. All patrons may be subject to search upon re-entry 
Event and or facility officials, staff and players are excluded from the clear bag policy.  
Should you have any questions regarding the bag policy, please email All approved bags are subject to inspection upon entry and are subject to additional inspections within the stadium. 
Guests with bags or items that do not satisfy the BREC Stadium Bag Policy are encouraged to return their bags or items to their vehicle.

Skate Park

Skate Park Rules

Hours of operation:
Sunday-Thursday: Daylight to 10 p.m.
Friday-Saturday: Daylight to midnight

Helmets and pads are recommended. Bikes are welcome.

This is a 30,000 square foot, concrete skatepark built by California Skateparks and accommodates both skateboards and bicycles.

BMX Track 

Helmets required. No motorized vehicles or RC cars allowed.

Rock Climbing Tower

The rock wall is currently closed for maintenance and refurbishment. Re-open date TBD.


This 333-meter smooth concrete cycling track is one of only 15 in the United States. Cyclists can reach up to 35 mph during competition. Helmets are required.

Admission: Free and open to the public

Team Automotive Group Sportsplex

Team Automotive Group, the Baton Rouge Basketball and Volleyball Association (BRBVA) and BREC partnered to build a new, 30,000 suare-foot recreational complex. The Team Automotive Group Sportsplex is in the heart of Baton Rouge at BREC's Perkins Road Community Park. It is the largest indoor basketball facility in Baton Rouge and the largest indoor volleyball facility in Louisiana. In addition to being a premier basketball and volleyball complex, it is used for other purposes including BREC summer camps, cheerleading competitions and recreation activities for seniors. The facility houses 3 tournament play basketball courts, 6 youth basketball courts, 12 basketball half courts and 5 competition volleyball courts.
