Milford Wampold Memorial Park
4.15 Acres - BREC's Milford Wampold Memorial Park is located on Stanford Avenue, on the LSU Lake. The sand beach and handicapped-accessible pier offers a unique spot for leisure recreation for the entire family. Recent improvements to the park include a new asphalt parking lot, reconfigured to provide more green space in the park, a new pedestrian bridge, and a new exercise station. All amenities are ADA compliant including new sidewalks, benches and a new water fountain. This park has 0.25 miles of hard surface walking trails.

Urban Nature Hike Series: Wampold
Interested in exploring the nature oasis next door or looking to take your neighborhood walks to the next level? Our Urban Hike series is a great start! Geared toward nature novices of all ages, participants will enjoy a leisurely walk through a BREC park while learning some fun facts about the park’s natural areas and the fundamentals of adventuring in the great outdoors. Preregistration is required for all attendees and an adult must accompany all children.

Get into the Halloween spirit with our Pumpkin Paddle Parade, an exciting competion of “float” decorating! You design and decorate a canoe, kayak or paddleboard in Halloween décor, and then parade in front of our judges for the chance to win fabulous prizes!
