Hearts and Hooves Adaptive Riding

This 6-week session is designed for the needs of riders aged 6 and up with physical, mental, and/or social disabilities. Riders enjoy a one-hour class per week on horseback, while learning stretching exercises, basic equitation, and games. Horseback riding is known to improve physical skills such as core strength, balance, and co-ordination, as well as affecting cognitive, emotional, and social well-being. Each rider is fully supported by trained horses, staff, and volunteers, as well as each other. This can help foster within each participant a sense of community and belonging as a class. Maximum class sizes of 8 riders, with 3 instructors and up to 3 volunteer assistants per rider.
