Summer Kick-Off 

Perkins Road Community Park

Come KICK off the Summer with us and enjoy a day-long celebration of the start of summer at the Skatepark!  Come join us for music, food, fun, and extremely good riding. 

Sweet Tooth Designs 

Church Street Park 

May 7 / 5:30-7 p.m. 

 Learn the basics of decorating and creating a work of art cookie while enjoying a delicious cookie treat. All participants will get to take their cookie home to show their family.

Family Game Night 

Forest Community Park  

May 7 / 6-7 p.m. 

Roll the dice, shuffle the cards, and get ready for a night of delightful family fun! Join us at Forest Community Park for Family Game Night. 

Zoo + Me Mornings: Down on the Farm 

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo 

May 9 / 9:30-11:30 a.m. 

Held the second Saturday of the month, Zoo staff designed this program for children accompanied by a parent or guardian. Programs incorporate many exciting activities including a train ride, animal encounters, art projects and “zooper” snacks that adults and children can enjoy together.

Fae Fest

Enter a world of magic and adventure! Explore themed zones, meet fairies and dragons, enjoy games, crafts, and live shows fun for all ages. Costumes are welcome! 

Glow in the Park: Basketball

Ready... Set... Glow! Gather friends and family for glow-in-the-dark team-based games at locations throughout the parish.

Sunshine Social: Prom

Dance the night away with BREC Adaptive and Families Helping Families as we host our monthly Sunshine Socials. Be creative and dress to match each month’s theme. Enjoy dinner, dancing, and door prizes.

Swamp Birthday 

Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center

Join us to enjoy all-day fun, including live animal encounters, crafts, games, and birthday cake while it lasts. Exhibitors from around the area will be on-site sharing information about our native plants and animals.

Open House Junior Singles Tournament 

Capital One Tennis Center At City-Brooks Community Park 

May 22 / 4:30-8:30 p.m. / Ages: 11-18 

This is a great opportunity for beginner youth players to experience playing in a tournament.  Format is 8 game pro-set.  Free pizza, snacks, and beverages for players.
