EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH - BREC announces updated operating procedures for Liberty Lagoon beginning on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Under the new structure, Liberty Lagoon will operate with two timed admission sessions daily. Ticketing is available online or at the gate; however, no discounts will be applied to online purchases moving forward. The daily schedule and pricing are as follows:
- Session 1: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | $6 per guest
- Facility Intermission: 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Session 2: 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. | $6 per guest
- Guests may also purchase a full-day admission ticket for $12 at the start of the day, which grants access to both sessions. This is identical to the original pricing structure.
- All guests will receive a wristband on-site to indicate their full-day admission ticket and are encouraged to retain this proof of purchase throughout their visit.
The park will close daily from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., allowing for comprehensive cleaning of the facility, providing mandatory breaks for staff members, and enabling compliance with labor regulations.
BREC apologizes for any inconvenience regarding the previously updated session-based structure and pricing. All guests who purchased one-session tickets for $12 between July 11, 2025 and July 14, 2025 will automatically receive a $6 refund per ticket. Refunds will be processed within 5–7 business days back to the original form of payment.
“We sincerely apologize for the confusion and appreciate the public’s understanding as we implement these necessary adjustments,” said BREC Interim Superintendent Janet Simmons.“These changes are designed to support the well-being of our staff and maintain a safe, enjoyable experience for all Liberty Lagoon guests.”
