Youth Programs

A 20% surcharge will be applied on out-of-parish registrations for any BREC program that has an activity number.

293022-09 Summer Junior Tennis Camp (Ages 4-17) Monday-Friday, Aug. 2-6. Full-day camp is Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and Friday from 9-11:30 a.m. Half-day camp is Monday-Friday from 9-11:30 a.m.  Full-day campers must bring their own lunch. Registration Deadline: Friday, July 30. No same day registration allowed. $10 late fee after registration deadline. Camp Director: Natalie Johnson.

Summer Tennis Camps early drop-off/late pick-up options:

Weekly early drop-off from 8-9 a.m.:  $40.  Weekly late pick-up (full-day campers only) from 2-5 p.m.:  $95.

593025-07-09 Highland Park Tennis Academy (Ages 5-17) A continuous year-round program separated into semesters. Fall semester is Aug. 18-Dec. 14. Skill levels include beginner, advanced beginner, and intermediate. Academy operates Monday through Thursday from 4:30-6 p.m. Classes available: one day per week, two days per week, and three or more days per week. Monthly and semester rates available. 10% discount on semester rates if registered by Monday, Aug. 9. Semester rate is non-refundable, except with medical documentation of injury/illness. $10 late fee if monthly fee is not received by the 10th of the month. Registration must take place 24 hours prior to first class. No same day registration. Register at Highland Road Park Tennis Center or by calling 225-766-0247.

293023-05-07 10 and Under Tennis Tournament (Ages 6-10) Saturday, Aug. 28, from 8:30 a.m.-noon. This tournament features a singles round robin format with boys and girls divisions: ages 8 and younger on a 36-ft. court with a red ball; ages 10 and younger on a 60-ft. court with an orange ball; ages 10 and younger on a 78-ft. court with an orange or green dot ball. Free snacks and awards for players. Registration Deadline:  Wednesday, Aug. 25.

393021-05 Junior Beginner Instruction (Ages 8 and older) Tuesdays, Sept. 7-28, from 5-6 p.m. This four-week program introduces and reinforces fundamental tennis techniques. Walk-ins accepted. Instructor: Eugene St. Martin.

393021-06 Junior Advanced Beginner Instruction (Ages 8 and older) Wednesdays, Sept. 8-29, from 5-6 p.m. This four-week program reinforces fundamental tennis techniques, stroke development, and conditioning for advanced beginners. Walk-ins accepted. Instructor: Eugene St. Martin.

393021-07-09 Pee Wee Program (Ages 3-5) Saturdays, Sept. 11-Oct. 2. Three sessions to choose from:  8:15-9 a.m., 9:15-10 a.m., or 10:15-11 a.m. This four-week program consists of 45-minute classes designed to introduce the game of tennis to younger children. Help your child develop motor skills, hand-eye coordination, overall athleticism, and fundamental tennis strokes. Fun is guaranteed! Registration Deadline: Thursday, Sept. 9. No drop-ins. Instructor: Natalie Johnson.

293021-03 Strokes, Strategy and Play for Adult Intermediate Players Tuesdays, July 6-27, from 7-8 p.m.  This four-week program reinforces stroke development, conditioning, and strategies for adult intermediate players. Walk-ins accepted. Instructor: Eugene St. Martin.
