BREC Volunteer
Volunteer BREC January
Let's Get it Started
2020 is here! What's the popular phrase around this time? New Year. New You. At the start of a new year most of us tend to make new goals and resolutions to achieve. One of the goals Volunteer BREC set was to introduce a new volunteer software and after months of working behind the scenes the new software is finally here! Our new site allows for better tracking and reporting and allows you to self- schedule and report your own hours. Additional perks include an online secure application, and overall streamlined volunteer management. There will be more news and additions to the program so stay tuned. In the meantime, check out the new site volunteer.brec.org..

P.S. For those who volunteered for 30 or more hours and submitted hours either on the new site or using the paper timesheets the tax letters will be mailed the first week in February pending timely receipt of hours.

Happy New Year!

Park Scorecard Project
The park scorecard project consists of going out to one or more of BREC parks and giving it a grade based on six specific components: cleanliness, accessibility, greenspaces, functionality, and amenities. Volunteers complete a digital survey, upload a few photos from the visit, and click submit; it's that simple. The purpose of this project is to get unbiased feedback on our parks. This is a great opportunity for persons college aged or affiliated with an organization or business that are looking to earn service hours. These surveys can be completed at any time at the convenience of the volunteer. We have over 180 parks so there are many to choose from. Parks are assigned by BREC's Volunteer Manager.
